Location
Ablington is a pretty hamlet consisting of mainly period properties located on the outskirts of the village Figheldean.
Figheldean has a Church of England primary school located in the village which has recently been rated very good by ofsted, and there are plans in place for a new primary school in the not so distance future. A 13th Century church is also situated in the village with an active village hall providing numerous clubs and social events. For the sports enthusiast there is a multi purpose all weather recreation area with facilities for tennis, 5 a side football and basketball. Figheldean also benefits from being on a local bus route to Salisbury, Amesbury, Pewsey and Devizes with a village bus provided to Waitrose supermarket in Salisbury. The local post office is in Larkhill and a mobile library visit’s the village on a fortnightly basis. Newspaper’s can be delivered on a daily basis along with other services such as a milkman. Salisbury Plain is a short distance away and is ideal for walking, riding and many other outdoor pursuits.
Grateley rail station is approximately 8 miles away with mainline links to London Waterloo; alternatively The Cathedral City of Salisbury is approximately 9 miles to the South and offers a comprehensive range of shopping, cultural and recreational facilities.
